Speaker 1:

we're diving into the question that many of us grapple with and that should I care about what other people would think of it's a complex topic with various angles, and we're here to explore it. I'm going to share five points with you today, and point number one is the power of self-awareness and authenticity. It's natural to seek approval and validation from others, but it's equally crucial to stay true to ourselves. Our sense of self-worth should come from within, grounded in self-awareness and authenticity. Remember, being authentic does not only attract the right people into our lives, but it also fosters genuine connection. So, while it's okay to consider other people's opinion, your values and beliefs should always be your guiding light. So, as I always say in this podcast, remember your purpose. What is your purpose, your purpose and your values should always be your guiding light. So self-awareness and authenticity is number one. Number two two sides of the coin.

Speaker 1:

Let's acknowledge the duality here. On one hand, constructive feedback can help us grow and improve. It's a valuable tool for self-development. On the other hand, excessive worry about what everyone thinks can stifle your creativity and lead to anxiety. As they say, spending too much time focusing on the past leads to depression, and spending too much time worrying about the future leads to anxiety. So it's important to be in the now, in the present, focus on your goals, focus on your purpose, focus on your value and having self-awareness. It's important to differentiate between constructive feedback that can aid your progress and basis criticisms that hold us. Instead of you have a coach and you have a mentor and your mentor is giving you constructive criticism of something you may not be seeing or you may not be aware of, then that's feedback right that you take, you digest and you process to help you move to the next level.

Speaker 1:

Three, freedom and letting go. Often our fears of judgment prevent us from taking risks passions. Consider this, Most people are too preoccupied with their own lives to overly dwell in ours. We think people are thinking about us or they're watching everything that we're doing more than people actually are. The truth of the matter is no one is thinking about us or watching us as much as we think they're thinking about us and or watching us. Embracing this reality can free us from the shackles of constantly seeking approval of others. When we release the need for everyone's validation, we open ourselves to a world of opportunities and personal growth. This really comes from the foundation of having clarity in your life. Clarity is your superpower. Clarity in what? Clarity in knowing what you want, who you are, what you stand for and where you're going. Once you have clarity in those areas in your life, what others think of you starts to become more and more irrelevant.

Speaker 1:

Number four surrounding yourself with the positivity. If your top four friends are whiners, complainers, naggers, gossipers, guess who the fifth whiner, complainer, nagger and gossipers you are. If your top four or five friends are entrepreneur achievers, go-getters, creators, employers, guess who the fifth go-getter achiever is you are. Whoever you surround yourself is going to determine who you become. So surrounding yourself with supportive and uplifting individuals is absolutely crucial. Constructive, positive influence can provide valuable insights without tearing you down.

Speaker 1:

There are people whose opinions you might generally want to consider, or there are other people's opinions where really they shouldn't mean much. Let's just say you're married or you want to be married. You got in a fight with your partner or your significant other, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your husband, your wife, your fiance, whatever stage in the relationship you are in. Would you go to someone that's been divorced or times for relationship advice or marriage advice? Or would it be wiser to go to grandpa that's been married for 50 years to the same woman, or the same man, or grandma, or the same man for 50 years. What is the wiser decision to make when it comes to that? Or remember, it's quality over quantity when it comes to opinions that matter.

Speaker 1:

Number five the bottom line. So should you care about what other people think of you? Well, the answer is in a simple as a yes or no. It's about finding the balance. While it's wise to consider feedback that aids your growth, your self-worth and decisions to ultimately be driven by your own values, purpose, mission, goals in your life. What do you want? Remember what I said earlier clarity is power. So get clear on what you want so that you can go fast in the direction that you want to go in. When you strike this balance, you're not only happier, but you're also better equipped to contribute your inequalities to the world. Guys, appreciate you. Guys, tuning in to this episode of Mindset Manifesto and remember your journey is about becoming the best version of yourself, and that involves mindful consideration of others' opinions while staying true to your authentic self. Until next time, keep being your amazing self. Peace out.
